The Prince George Women's Recreational Hockey League starts its new season on Friday. Six teams are ready to hit the ice, but they do have some open roster spots.

"We're happy with the six teams but we could use a few more players," said league president Jennifer Young. "We take all levels of experience."

The only stipulation, Young added, is that players must be 15 years of age or older by Dec. 31.

The registration deadline in the PGWRHL has already passed but late registrations are being accepted. For registration information, players are encouraged to visit the league's website (www.pgwrhl.com). Cost for the season -- 38 games per team, plus playoffs -- is $425.
