Wilson brings home gold

Alia Wilson grabbed the highest spot on the podium at a weekend gymnastics meet in Port Moody.

Wilson, who trains at the Prince George Gymnastics Club, finished first all-around at the TAG Invitational. In the Junior Olympic 9 category, she was golden on the balance beam and uneven bars, placed third on vault and seventh on floor exercise for the first-overall result.

Other top individual placings included: Mataya Auxi (JO5), eighth on vault; Gyongi Kiraly (JO5), fourth on vault and floor; Farrah Normand (JO6), third on bars; Kaylee Oberg (JO6), second on bars; Samantha Thomas (JO7), 10th on vault; and Rhiana Palfy (JO8), seventh on bars.
