The West Kelowna Warriors were reminded what Sheldon Rempel means to the Nanaimo Clippers.
Rempel scored two goals Thursday and added an assist to lead the Clippers to a 4-1 win over the Warriors in West Kelowna in the second game of the B.C. Hockey League's third-round tournament.
Rempel, who finished second in the BCHL scoring race with 59 goals and 51 assists for 110 points in 56 games, tied the game late in the first period after Conner Sodergren had opened the scoring for the Warriors.
Rempel's second of the game was into an empty net.
The round-robin format in the third round will eliminate one of the three remaining teams. The top two teams will then meet in the best-of-seven Fred Page Cup final series.
Jake LeBrun and Liam Blackburn, both of Prince George, each scored in the Warriors' 5-1 win Wednesday over the Chilliwack Chiefs in Chilliwack.
Nanaimo hosts Chilliwack on Saturday.
