UNBC soccer men set for playoffs

The UNBC Northern Timberwolves can start thinking about playoffs.

The UNBC Northern Timberwolves can start thinking about playoffs.

The local men's soccer team wrapped up its regular season by losing 4-0 to the Thompson Rivers University WolfPack Saturday in Kamloops and edging the UBC Okanagan Heat 1-0 Sunday in Kelowna. Next up for the Timberwolves is a first-round playoff match-up with either the Capilano University Blues or Langara College Falcons. The game will be played Oct. 29 in Surrey.

The Blues and Falcons will both finish their regular seasons this coming Saturday and Sunday, while the T-wolves will take advantage of a bye weekend to rest and prepare for their most important game of the year.

The Timberwolves, in their fourth year in the B.C. Colleges Athletic Association, finished the season with a program-best record of 6-5-1. Last season, they went 4-4-4.
