The Americans have their college football bowl games at this time of year and Prince George has the annual Turkey Bowl - an indoor soccer tournament started six years ago by Walter Hanik to help burn off calories from Christmas dinner in a fun, yet competitive, atmosphere. The tournament pits three over-16 women's teams against three over-40 men's teams from Dec. 27 to 29. On the final night of competition Thursday at the P.G. Roller Dome Kari's Team pulled off a 6-5 come-from-behind win over Tony's Team to run their record to two wins and a tie, scoring two late goals despite only having one sub. Tony's Team wrapped up the event with two wins and a loss.
