Hijinks and laughs are on the menu for the third annual Y Champions Hockey weekend in September in the form of a "Canada's favourite sportscasters."
Jay Onrait and Dan O'Toole will bring their TSN late-night sports schtick to Prince George as two-thirds of the 2012 keynote banquet special guests, Sept. 7 and 8. For the uninitiated Onrait and O'Toole entertain sports fans with their weekday edition of SportsCentre with their engaging and comedic take on the day's events while dropping in pop culture references.
The other third of the special guests is Dave Bidini, founder of the The Rheostatics and a popular musician, writer, journalist and filmmaker.
The Champions weekend has expanded for 2012 to include the Canadian Tire Hockey School and the Bidni Band concert at Shooters Pub downtown, while the hockey tournament will include a division for nine- and 10-year-olds and separate recreational and competitive adult divisions.
Banquet and concert ticket sales and hockey registration open June 25 at the YMCA on Massey Drive. Check out www.pgymca.com for more information.
