Sixth out of 28 teams. The D.P. Todd Trojans really were among the Best of the West.

At the above-named senior boys volleyball tournament, held in Kelowna on the weekend, the Trojans won their first four matches and then met the top-ranked triple-A team in B.C., the Semiahmoo Totems of White Rock. The double-A Trojans lost that playoff contest 25-13, 25-19 and later dropped a 26-24, 25-22 decision to Richmond Christian.

The D.P. Todd wins came against Clarence Fulton of Vernon (25-13, 25-19), Kelowna Christian (25-21, 22-25, 15-7), Mount Sentinel of South Slocan (25-19, 25-8) and, in the first round of playoffs, Robert A. McMath of Richmond (25-19, 25-13).
