Local high jumper Alyx Treasure has qualified for the NCAA's most prestigious indoor track and field meet of the year.
Treasure, a product of the Prince George Track and Field Club who competes as a freshman for Kansas State University, has made the cut for the NCAA Division 1 indoor championships. Her qualifying leap of 1.83-metres has her seeded sixth out of 20 athletes. Top-ranked Brigetta Barrett of Arizona has a qualifying mark of 1.97m.
The championships are Friday and Saturday at Boise State University in Idaho.
