One line did much of the damage for the Prince George Spruce Kings Saturday night at Rolling Mix Concrete Arena.

Simon Labelle, Rowan Miller and Nick Rheaume all made curtain calls as the game’s three stars before they headed into the locker room to celebrate a 5-2 win over the visiting Merritt Centennials in front of a crowd of 576.

Labelle put up two assists, Miller finished with a goal and an assist and Rheaume delivered a one-goal, two-assist performance to complete a two-game weekend sweep of the Cents.

Miller and Austin Fraser gave the Kings a 2-0 lead to take into the first intermission and John Herrington followed up with a power-play goal in the second period for his team-leading fifth goal of the season to stake the Kings (3-1-0-0-0) to their third win in four games to start the B.C. Hockey League season.

Rheaume and Ben LeFranc added to the total in the third period. Davide Patella and Connor Farren were the goalscorers for Merrrit (0-4-0-0-0). Three of those Cents’ losses have been to Prince George. They lost 6-3 to the Spruce Kings on Friday.

Jordan Fairlie made his season debut in goal for the Kings and stopped 17 of 19 shots. John Hicks had a much busier night stopping pucks for Merritt, blocking 35 of 40 shots.

The Kings went 2-for-5 on the power play, while Merritt finished 1-for-5.

The Kings play next in Chilliwack at the BCHL Showcase. They’ll take on the Wenatchee Wild on Wednesday in an afternoon game at 1 p.m., then face the Victoria Grizzlies Thursday night.

They’ll return to RMCA to host the Penticton Vees on Wednesday, Oct. 27.
