The UNBC men's basketball squad will tip off against UBC in the CIS Canada West quarter-finals next week.
The playoff round is a best-of-three series set to begin Thursday, Feb. 26 (7 p.m) at UBC in Vancouver. Game 2 is slated for Friday, Feb. 27 (8 p.m.) and Game 3, if necessary, is Saturday, Feb. 28 (8 p.m.).
UNBC finished second in the Canada West Explorer Division regular season with a 12-8 record. UBC placed third in the Pioneer Division at 14-6.
It's the first time UNBC has qualified for the playoffs in its three-year CIS history.
The first round of playoffs begins Thursday as the University of Winnipeg (sixth in the Pioneer Division) visits Thompson Rivers University (third in the Explorer Division) and University of Manitoba (seventh in the Pioneer Division) battles University of Calgary (fifth in the Pioneer Division).
