The Wood Wheaton Warriors probably won't throw down their gloves during the Y Champions Hockey Weekend. But they are throwing down something else.
A challenge.
The Warriors are daring other local car dealerships to sponsor teams and get them into the event, a fundraiser for the Family Y and one that will bring former Vancouver Canucks captain Trevor Linden to town.
"I'm absolutely shocked that the other dealers haven't got a team in already, but maybe they're afraid of us poor Chevy guys," said Tom Sentes, marketing manager for the Wood Wheaton Supercentre.
