Loedel decides to head to Grande Prairie to further her volleyball career

Sarah Loedel had choices. After her first few weeks in Grande Prairie, she's confident she made the right one.

Loedel, an 18-year-old Prince George product, is a rookie middle blocker for the Grande Prairie Regional College Wolves women's volleyball team. This season, she could have played for the Thompson Rivers University WolfPack of Kamloops or the Camosun College Chargers of Victoria.

She opted to go north instead of south.

"I'm am so excited," said Loedel, who graduated from College Heights secondary school in June. "The group of girls we have here is fantastic. We're all meshing really well together already and (coaches) Ron Thomson and Hugh (Bartlett) and Jenny (Head) and Erin (Henning) are exceptional coaches. They're all so nice and the technical coaching up here is more than I've ever received anywhere else."
