It was another successful weekend for the University of Northern British Columbia Timberwolves basketball teams.
Both the men and women T-wolves swept their PACWEST games, leaving the men with an 8-2 record and the Canadian Colleges' Athletic Association third-ranked women still undefeated at 10-0. Saturday the women beat the Columbia Bible College Bearcats 116-56, while the men ran to a 104-77 win.
The victories in Abbotsford followed up Friday's wins over the Douglas College Royals - 85-38 for the women and 84-56 for the men.
This weekend is a bye one for the UNBC teams as they prepare for their final home stand of the season Feb. 3 and 4 against the Capilano University Blues and Quest University Kermodes. It will be the final time fifth-year players Jen Clyne, Maria Neumann, Erin Beckett, Dennis Stark and Lucas Groot will play on the hard court at the Northern Sport Centre.
