T-wolves show their teeth

Starting the season with two losses was looking entirely possible. The UNBC Northern Timberwolves dug deep to make sure it didn't happen.

Sunday in Surrey, the Timberwolves men's soccer team spotted the Kwantlen Eagles an early 2-0 lead but clawed back for a 4-2 victory. The win came on the heels of a season-opening 3-1 loss to the Douglas College Royals Saturday in Coquitlam.

"We gifted (the Eagles) two goals and then had to roll up our sleeves and really get to work and the guys were up to it," UNBC head coach Sonny Pawar said of Sunday's triumph.

The UNBC women's soccer team did, unfortunately, go 0-2 to start the BCCAA schedule. The female T-wolves lost 2-0 to Kwantlen on Sunday and 4-1 to Douglas on Saturday. In Sunday's game, the two Kwantlen goals happened in the last 10 minutes.

"The girls played really hard all the way through but I guess it wasn't our day," said UNBC coach Mato Mikic.
