The Prince George Spruce Kings six-game win streak came to a screeching halt Friday in Langley against the Rivermen as they fell 5-1.
Rivermen goalie James Barr made 31 saves for the win as the Spruce Kings out shot their B.C. Hockey League rival 32-30. Kirk Thompson took the loss in the Kings' net.
The Rivermen (8-7-0-3) built a 3-0 advantage after 20 minutes and let Barr do the rest. The only blemish for the Rivermen goalie was Justin Rai's second-period goal.
The Spruce Kings(11-5-1-1) play tonight in Surrey against the Eagles (10-6-0-1), 7 p.m.
