The 2023 BCHL Road Show event in Burns Lake begins today with the Prince George Spruce Kings and Salmon Arm Silverbacks in town to play two regular-season games and engage with the local community.
The event, co-hosted by the Lake Babine Nation, kicks off with school visits in the morning and minor hockey camps in the afternoon, with participation from BCHL players and staff.
After a Try Hockey event on Saturday, an initiative designed to give the community the opportunity to try ice hockey for the first time, the games begin for real with Salmon Arm and Prince George facing off on Saturday night and Sunday afternoon.
The Spruce Kings (22-16-3-1-0) are fourth in the Interior Conference, one point ahead of the fifth-place Silverbacks (21-15-4-1—0).
Prince George is tied in points with the third-place West Kelowna Warriors, each with 48 points.
