The Prince George Spruce Kings opted to bolster their offence on deadline day.
The Spruce Kings acquired forwards Zack Rassell and Jarryd Ten Vaanholt.
Rassell came from the Canmore Eagles of the Alberta Junior Hockey League in exchange for future considerations.
He's a six-foot-one, 192 pound, 19 year old forward with three seasons in the AJHL. He's put up 57 points, including 20 goals, in 123 games.
The Kings picked up Ten Vaanholt from the Victoria Grizzlies in exchange for future considerations.
The six-foot-two, 205 pound 20-year-old West Vancouver-born forward racked up 91 points, including 39 goals, in 97 games.
"We're very excited to add a player of Jarryd's ability and character to our team," said Spruce Kings general manager Mike Hawes. "Jarryd is a proven all around good player in our league and has been able to put up good offensive numbers and will improve our offensive depth up front."
It is Ten Vaanholt's second full season in the BCHL.
The third-place Spruce Kings (19-13-2-3) will be on the road for three games this weekend, visiting the Chilliwack Chiefs Friday, Langley Rivermen on Saturday and league-leading Penticton Vees Sunday afternoon. The Vees (33-3-0-2) are on a 20-game winning streak.
Heading into Tuesday night's games, Kings forward Paul De Jersey led the BCHL scoring race with 67 points in 36 games, including a league-high 30 goals. He holds a one-point edge over Connor Reilly of Penticton, one of five Vees in the top-10 in scoring.
