The Prince George Spruce Kings are extremely proud to announce that Jujhar Khaira has been selected to play for Team Canada West at the World Junior A Challenge in Langley. The 17 year old second year forward with the Spruce Kings was informed of his roster spot shortly after Team Canada West wrapped up their final evaluation camp ahead of the tournament that begins on Monday Nov. 7.

"Since I first learned of the World Junior A Challenge I knew I wanted to play in that tournament and wear the Team Canada jersey and now I get to realize that dream," said Khaira. "I'm gonna play my best to represent my family, the Spruce Kings and my country to the best of my ability."

Team Canada West includes a total of fourteen players from the British Columbia Hockey League. Khaira becomes the fifth Spruce Kings player to play in the World Junior A Challenge - Ryan deVries (2006-Gold), Jeff Forsythe (2007-Gold), Kevin Genoe (2008-Silver) and Wes McLeod (2009-Silver).

Team Canada West will now stay together until the end of the tournament with their first action coming in an exhibition game against Team Canada East on Thursday. Team Canada West will also play Russia in an exhibition game Saturday night with the first tournament game against Sweden on Tuesday.
