The Prince George Spruce Kings took on the visiting Langley Rivermen on Friday night at Rolling Mix Concrete Arena in the first of a pair of weekend games between the two teams.
The Rivermen got on the board first with Joseph Musa scoring his fifth of the year, and Devin Leduc scoring his eighth of the season, both goals coming in the second period and both on the power play. The Spruce Kings then used the power play to their advantage with Preston Brodziak scoring his seventh of the season, and Nolan Welsh scoring his sixth of the season and first of two on the night. Welsh then gave the Kings the lead in the third scoring his seventh of the season. Chong Min Lee then put the game away with an empty net goal in the dying seconds of the game to give the Spruce Kings the 4-2 win.
With the win the Spruce Kings move to a record of 7-9-2-1 while the loss sees the Rivermen's record now sit at 8-12-0-0.
The same two teams will play Saturday night at Rolling Mix Concrete Arena with puck drop set for 7 p.m.
