The Prince George Spruce Kings saved their best for last Friday night in Cranbrook, scoring three unanswered goals in the third period to defeat the Bucks 3-2.

Luca Primerano kickstarted the Kings’ offence 47 seconds into the third and Alexis Cournoyer tied it up seven minutes later. The winner came with 1:32 left on the clock when Owen Goodbrand collected his third of the season to lift the Kings to only their second road win in 13 games this season.

Bryce Sookro, on a power play, and Braedyn McIntosh, staked the Bucks to a 2-0 lead heading into the first break.

Marcus Ouellet made 27 saves in the Spruce Kings nets to improve his record to 4-7.

The win moved the eighth-place Kings (8-13-3-0) to within four points of the sixth-place Bucks (11:14-1-0) in the B.C. Hockey League Interior Conference standings.

The teams meet again in a rematch Saturday (6 p.m., Mixler).
