The Price was right for the Prince George Spruce Kings.

The Kings announced Tuesday they’ve acquired 19-year-old forward Hunter Price from the Youngstown (Ohio) Phantoms of the United States Hockey League for future considerations.

Price,  a six-foot-one, 194-pound native of Calgary, played 16 games for the Phantoms this season and picked up a goal and three assists. Last season he played in the Alberta Junior Hockey League for the Drayton Valley Thunder and finished second in team scoring with 13 goals and 31 assists for 41 points in 51 games.

"Adding a player like Hunter to our group is going to make our team much stronger overall," said Spruce Kings general manager Mike Hawes. "He's a tremendous young man with good size, speed and skill; and plays the game hard. We're thrilled to welcome him to Prince George."

Just before the BCHL deadline Tuesday the Spruce Kings made one additional roster move, trading 18-year-old defenceman Liam Hunks to the Notre Dame Hounds of the Saskatchewan Junior Hockey League.

After handing the league-leading Penticton Vees their first shutout loss of the season, a 3-0 win Saturday at Kopar Memorial Arena, the Spruce Kings (17-12-2-1-0, fourth in Interior Conference) are back on the road this weekend. They take on the West Kelowna Warriors on Friday, then head to Wenatchee to play the Wild on Saturday.
