The sounds of ball being played once again filled Spruce City Stadium on Monday evening as the Spruce City Men's Fastball League opened their season with a pair of games.
The Big Guy Lake Reds took on the Freshii Tyco Hitmen in the first game of the night with the Reds taking the game by a score of 2-0 thanks to pitcher Norm Linton who pitched a six inning no-hitter and went 2-for-3 at the plate hitting 2 RBI's. Brennan Hammell scored both runs for Big Guy Lake. Brydon Lessard was on the mound for the Hitmen.
The second game of the night was a rematch of last season's championship final as the FFR Glass Grays hit the field to take on the Decorum Painting Angels. The Angels were victorious defeating the Grays by a score of 8-3. Robbie Antoine was on the mound for the Angels while Joel Walkey got the start for the Grays. Robbie Antoine and Ryan Howse both scored a pair of runs for the Angels and Cole Waldie scored two runs of his own for the Grays.
