A lot can be learned in a day -- that's the hope of organizers of a baseball camp slated for Sunday at Volunteer Park.

With instruction from Craig Horswell and Jay Cook, starting at 9 a.m., the design of the X Conditioning-sponsored camp is to teach fundamentals of throwing, fielding, catching, hitting and base-running.

The youngest players, in the tadpole division, will have their camp from 9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., with a snack break, while the next division up, mosquito, will run from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m.

The cost per player is $25 for tadpole and $30 for mosquito, and spots are limited. Call Jay at 250-613-2436 to reserve a spot.

The following Sunday, June 27, the camps will be run for players in the peewee and bantam divisions at Rotary Park, at a per-player cost of $55, and that four-hour session will run from 9:30 a.m. to 3 p.m.
