The bug squadron is getting prepared.
But do they have enough arrows to hit all those flies and mosquitoes? Not likely, and that's one of the reasons insect repellant was invented.
The Silvertip Archers can't do much about the uninvited guests likely to swarm the archers in this weekend's annual 3-D shoot but they do know how to put on a great tournament. The four-round event, in which stuffed animal replicas are strategically placed in the woods along the Silvertip course off Highway 16, starts Saturday morning.
Each round includes 20 targets. Each shooter is allowed one mulligan per round. For the younger archers (peewees and pre-cubs) arrows that bounce off a target after hitting horns, antlers or bases will be counted.
Registration fees are $90 (families), $40 adults), $25 (youth, cubs, pre-cubs). Peewees shoot for free. For more information call Don Reeves 250-613-0151 or email [email protected].
