The Prince George Senior Lacrosse Association schedule-maker must have been a soothsayer.

How else do you explain the intriguing match-ups scheduled for today when the six-team league hosts its annual triple-header at Rolling Mix Concrete Arena.

It all starts at 5 p.m. with the much-improved Cowboy Ranch Stylers (2-1) taking on the Northland Nissan Assault (O-2), still looking for its first win this season.

The 7 p.m. game pits the two out-of-town entries - the Quesnel M. Daniels Consulting Crossfire (0-3) and the Mackenzie Lumberjacks (0-2) - against each other. The Lumberjacks have returned to the league this season after a three-year hiatus and one of the teams will break its goose egg tonight.

The battle of the unbeatens wraps up the festivities on the floor, starting at 9 p.m. The two-time defending champion Westwood Pub Devils, who haven't lost a PGSLA game in two seasons, put their 3-0 record in 2016 on the line against the Claude's Barbershop/BX Pub Bandits, who are also 3-0 to start the season.

Thursday night in Quesnel, Stylers' hotshot rookie Douglas Porter led the charge with five goals and four assists for a nine-point night in a 13-7 win over the host Crossfire. Porter played last year for the Prince George midget B Posse and was the first-overall draft pick in the 2016 PGSLA draft.

Cowboy Ranch captain Matt Rochon finished with four goals and four assists, Mike Bayley had two goals and four assists and Dawson Ellery, who returned to lacrosse this season after taking a year off, picked up a goal and three assists.

Devin Whalen had two goals and three assists to lead the Crossfire, and Brody Lawlor also had two goals and a helper. Jacob Schloeb fired a hat trick.

Bob Mills was busy in the Quesnel nets, making 52 saves, while Stylers goalie Kyle Wilson stopped 40 shots.
