The Prince George Cougars swept their weekend series with the Lethbridge Hurricanes at CN Centre with a 4-2 victory. Daulton Siwak, Jesse Forsberg, Jordan Tkatch and Jake Mykitiuk scored for the Cougars, while Drew Owsley made 39 saves for the win.
The win helped the Cougars (15-26-0-2) keep pace with the Victoria Royals (14-25-2-3) who earned a 4-3 shoot out win in Brandon over the Wheat Kings. Prince George remains one point out of a playoff sport behind the Royals and Seattle Thunderbirds.

Paul De Jersey's 21-game point streak came to an end as the Prince George Spruce Kings were shutout 4-0 in Penticton by the Vees. For the Vees (35-3-0-2) it was their 22nd straight win, moving them closer to the 29 wins they need to tie the league record. Michael Garteig had the 22-save shutout, while Kirk Thompson made 21 saves in a losing cause.
The Kings (19-15-2-3) have dropped two games in a row, including Friday's 4-3 loss in Chilliwack and will look to salvage the three-game road swing with a victory in Vernon on Sunday afternoon.

The Cariboo Cougars moved three points up on the Vancouver NE Chiefs in the standings holding on for a 5-4 win in Coquitlam. The Cougars jumped out to a 3-0 lead on goals from Michael Bell, Nathan Craft and Raymond Grewal. Captain Tanner Fjellstorm made it 4-0 early in the second period. Hayden-James Berra, with his 12th goal of the season, had the winner early in the third.
The two teams face off again at noon Sunday before the Cougars begin the journey home.
PACWEST (basketball) -
Women: It was the UNBC Timberwolves dominating the Langara College Falcons 90-59 at the Northern Sport Centre behind Kady Dandeneau's 26 points and five rebounds. Carling Muir led the Falcons with 18 points. Jennifer Clyne and Jennifer Bruce each had 10 points for UNBC. With the win the T-wolves improve to 8-0.
Men - The men's game was much tighter but UNBC was able to hold on for the 83-73 win over Langara. The win improves the T-wolves' record to 6-2 and leaves the Falcons at 4-4. Kevan Madsen led the home team with 21 points and nine rebounds.
