The Cariboo Minor Midget Cougars hit the ice at Kin 2 in their season opener as they took on the visiting Okanagan Minor Midget Rockets in the first game of a weekend doubleheader.
The Rockets struck first when Remy Spooner potted a goal at 12:46 in the first. The Cougars answered back with two power play goals with Decker Mujcin scoring at 11:34 and Linden Makow scoring at 5:18.
From then on it was all Rockets as Austin Roest and Kailus Green scored in the second period and Austin Roest (PP), Max Graham, and Carter Schmidt (SH) scored in the third to give the Rockets a 6-2 victory.
The same two teams will meet on Sunday at 11 a.m. in Kin 2.
