The Kelly Road badminton team, which won the north central zone tournament last weekend at Duchess Park, will compete at the B.C. high school championship May 26-28 in Kamloops.

"It will be some really tough competition," said Roadrunners coach Lisa Davison, who took a Kelly Road team to provincials two years ago and guided it to a 13th-place finish, the best-ever result for a north central squad.

The Kelly Road players -- who range from Grade 8 to Grade 12 -- are Jonathon Goodkey, Ben Cooke, Mike Warner, Tanner Edwards, Connor Beverley, Colton Jensen, Terra Young, Lisa Barber, Haylee Seiter, Amanda Tomm, Victoria Kersey and Jessie May.

At zones, the Roadrunners beat D.P. Todd 9-2, Duchess Park 8-3 and Chetwynd 9-0.
