During the PGYVC Kodiak Classic Junior Invitational volleyball tournament, held on the weekend, the Roadrunners won their last two matches by way of the comeback and walked out of the Duchess Park gym as champions.

In the semifinal round, the Runners fell behind the College Heights Cougars 10-1 in the third and deciding set but battled back for a 15-12 win. Then, in the final, Kelly Road dropped the first set 25-13 to the favoured Duchess Park Condors but won the next two by scores of 25-22, 15-12.

"They showed heart, they didn't give up," Kelly Road coach Ryan Penner said of his players. "(In the semifinal match) we were basically down and out."
