The Kelly Road Roadrunners played better, but their long-range radar wasn't working for them and that spelled trouble at the B.C. boys double-A basketball championship in Langley.
The North Central zone champions lost 77-69 Thursday to the Delview Raiders of Delta.
"Delview was a way better three-point shooting team than us, and that was the difference in the game," said Kelly Road head coach Justin Soles. "We couldn't hit a three-point (shot) for the life of us and they couldn't miss a three-point. I know they hit 17 threes on us and we only hit one in the last two minutes of the game.
"We had a least 20 attempts. Solomon (Dugdale) and Ethan Coleman are usually our big three-point shooters and they just were lacking it today."
Matt Price led the Roadrunner cause with 17 points while Dugdale contributed 15.
The Roadrunners, ranked 12th going into the tournament, lost their opener on Wednesday 84-37 to St. Michael's University.
Kelly Road takes on the Prince Charles Comets of Creston today at 8:30 a.m. The Roadrunners (0-2) have to win two games to finish 13th in the 16-team tournament.
Meanwhile, at the boys triple-A provincial championship, also in Langley, the Duchess Park Condors evened their record to 1-1 with an 80-67 win over the L.V. Rogers Bombers of Nelson.
Jasper Yutuc shot a game-high 21 points to lead the Condors, while Owen Trepanier hit for 14 points and Colburn Pearce had 10.
The Condors face Nanaimo District Friday at noon.
An opening-day 68-51 loss to No. 8-ranked Mark Isfeld dropped the ninth-ranked Condors into the consolation draw. The best Duchess Park can finish is ninth.
