The 33rd season of the Prince George Senior Lacrosse Association is just around the corner.

On Monday night at 8 p.m. at Kopar Memorial Arena the BHL Bandits will take on the four-time defending-champion Scamp Transport Devils in a rematch of last year’s playoff final to start the new season.

The Devils swept the best-of-five series in three games to claim the Dale Rolufs Memorial Trophy.

The 2019 title marked the third straight year the Devils won the playoffs. There was no league play during the pandemic in 2020 and 2021.

Two other games are on the PGSLA schedule next week, both to be played in Quesnel.

The Quesnel Wildfire host the Northland Nissan Assault in their season-opener Wednesday at 8 p.m.. Then on Thursday at the same time in Quesnel, the Wildfire will face the Bandits.

The Mackenzie Conifex Power Lumberjacks won’t begin their season until Saturday, May 13, when they host the Assault in a two-game set in Mackenzie that wraps up with a Sunday, May 14 rematch at 11 a.m.

Each of the five PGSLA teams will play a 12-games season that concludes June 22 at Kin 1 where the Lumberjacks will play the Assault.

Games times are 8 p.m. for all games except on Sundays, when they start at 11 a.m.
