In less than three days, the Prince George Kodiaks will sink their teeth into their second season in the B.C. Football Conference when they take on the defending national-champion Okanagan Sun this Saturday night at Masich Place Stadium.
Head coach and director of football operations Jamie Boreham took over the team from Keon Raymond in January and has since assembled a staff of nine offensive and six defensive coaches.
The coaching crew on offence is a combination of new and returning faces that includes Ken Hocker (receivers), Ethan Ready (receivers), Scott Wegner (running backs), Brad Paakkonen (offensive line), Rob Sherlock (offensive line), Calvin Sanheim (offensive line) and Chris Buker (offensive assistant).
The offensive coordinator/quarterbacks coach is Todd Hansen, a former Prince George high school QB who served as an offensive coordinator in the BCFC with the Vancouver Island Raiders.
“He has experience in this league, rapport with the players, and has fit seamlessly into the coaching staff,” said Boreham.
Johannes van Leenen, who coached with Boreham two years ago with the Okanagan Sun is the Kodiaks’ offensive advisor.
On defence, the coaching staff includes Sean Yeulet (defensive line), Scott Stoughton (defensive assistant/Prince George high school scout), Ryan Bellamy (linebackers/player support), Craig Briere (defensive coordinator) , Reid Williams (defensive assistant/film coordinator) and Adrien Kellman (defensive backs).
Garfield Nelson is the special teams coordinator/Eastern Canada scout, having served as running backs coach at York University.
Nick Pankurst is the Kodiaks director of scouting and Carly Krebs will serve as equipment manager.
Game time Saturday is 7 p.m. Tickets are available on the Tickets North website.
