Hart Judo Academy and Prince George Judo Club representatives returned from the Open Canadian National Championship in Montreal recently where four athletes brought home medals.

Nevada Jones secured a bronze medal, while Alandra Steiger and Lily McCullough each earned silver medals in U16.

Maegan Grooten fought her way to two silver medals in U16 & U18 and Kimiko Kamstra won a bronze medal in Seniors.

The hard-won medals were well deserved as the athletes continued to rigorously train during the last few months in anticipation of the big tournament.

As part of Team BC, the group of 10 athletes representing Prince George stayed in Montreal after the competition to attend a training camp at the National Training Centre to end their season.

The highly-ranked successful athletes will use these national championship experiences as they move forward into their next season of judo.
