Prince George has mixed results at B.C. boys hockey championships

The Prince George team completed an undefeated week at the B.C. provincial championship in Kelowna on Wednesday with a 6-0 shutout over Kamloops in the final game to win the banner.

The round-robin tournament saw Prince George finish with a 6-0 record, beating Kelowna on Wednesday afternoon by a 4-1 margin.

Tuesday the Prince George squad fended off Cowichan Valley 5-3 after handing Kamloops their first loss of the tournament by the same 5-3 score. In Sunday's opening game Prince George doubled up Richmond 6-3 and edged Abbotsford on Monday 3-2.

The bantam tier 1 boys didn't fare so well posting an 0-5 record at their provincial championship in Kamloops. In Monday's opening game with Kelowna it was tied at 4-4 as both teams went end to end trying for the go-ahead goal and with 64 seconds left in the third period the Kelowna side managed to find the twine to give them the 5-4 win.

After a 6-2 loss to their Kamloops' hosts, Prince George fell 9-0 to Burnaby and 5-3 to the Victoria Racquet Club. In the final game Thursday the P.G. boys were dropped 7-1 by Cloverdale.
