The Prince George Cougars open training camp next Wednesday (Aug. 30).
The players will be separated into four groups – Team Connelly, Team Byfuglien, Team Chara, Team Mason – for practices that start Thursday, Aug. 31, leading up to scrimmages that begin the next day at 9 a.m.
The Cougars’ younger players, aged 15-17, will compete against each other on either Team Boogaard or Team Souray in the Prospects Showcase Games Aug. 31 at 6 p.m. at CN Centre.
The four-day camp, which also includes off-ice workouts, will be the first for Cougar prospects Carson Carels, Kayden Lemire, Dermot Johnston and Townes Kozicky, all picked by the Cats in the first or second round of the 2023 WHL draft.
All scrimmages are at CN Centre and are open to the public.
