Polars, Roadrunners off to Fort St. John for volleyball zones

The Prince George Secondary Polars senior boys and girls volleyball teams are in Fort St.

The Prince George Secondary Polars senior boys and girls volleyball teams are in Fort St. John this weekend to play in their respective zone championships - the 4A North-Central title for the girls and the 3A North-Central for the boys - today and Saturday.

Both PGSS teams begin their quests for the title at 3 p.m. today with the boys playing the top-seeded Kelly Road Roadrunners, while the girls play Quesnel's Correlieu Secondary Clan.

The PGSS girls are back on the court at 5:20 p.m. against the host North Peace Secondary, while the boys return to action at 6:30 p.m. against North Peace.

There are three girls teams, with the Polars ranked number one, North Peace second and the Clan third, while the four boys teams are ranked: Kelly Road, North Peace, Correlieu, PGSS.

Friday's games are best of three with the playoff games Saturday, switching to a best-of-five format.

The girls final is Saturday at 1 p.m., with the boys final following at 3 p.m.
