The first kill shots will be hit today at the PGSS Polars Invitational senior girls volleyball tournament.
PGSS is hosting a 10-team event, with the opening match between the Cedars Christian School Eagles and the D.P. Todd Trojans scheduled for 5:30 p.m. Also today, at 6:40 p.m., the Kelly Road Roadrunners 'B' team will take on the Duchess Park Condors.
The College Heights Cougars and the Eagles enter the tournament as the favourites. The Cougars are ranked sixth in the provincial double-A division, while the Eagles sit at No. 4 in the single-A category.
Other teams entered are Kelly Road 'A', Chetwynd, Fort St. James and Correlieu of Quesnel.
Matches will resume on Friday afternoon and will continue on Saturday. The championship final is scheduled for 5:50 p.m.
At the junior girls level, the north central zone championship tournament will be held Friday and Saturday at Duchess Park. The junior boys zones will also be on the courts at Duchess.
