Gold was a possibility. Unfortunately, Nathan Warren, Duncan Elliot and Brett Harris had to settle for silver at Hockey B.C.'s Under-17 B.C. Cup.

At the jamboree-style tournament, which concluded Sunday in Salmon Arm, the three local players were part of Team Flyers, which lost 6-2 to Team Stars in the championship game.

In the contest for bronze, Team Canucks -- coached by P.G.'s Trevor Sprague and featuring Eli Jarvis -- defeated Team Sabres 3-0. In the game for fifth and sixth place, Team Bruins edged Team Wild 2-1. Prince George's Raymond Grewal scored the lone goal for the Wild.

A selection of players from the B.C. Cup will be invited to attend a regional camp, July 24-27 in Calgary. From that camp, the top B.C. and Alberta players will be given Team Pacific jobs for the World Under-17 Challenge.
