Several Prince George Skating Club skaters returned from the regional figure skating championship in Quesnel on March 9 to 11.
Emma McCarville won silver in the pre-preliminary freeskate and bronze in the primary showcase event for her category.
Other pre-preliminary medalists were: Jayna Mason, who took bronze in her group, while Holly Burke won gold and Sierra Petrovcic earned bronze. Petrovcic also picked up the gold medal for her primary elements program.
Graeme Houston-McMillan won bronze in the pre-preliminary men's group.
In the preliminary freeskate, Mary Chidiac took gold and Christina Turnquist won silver. Turnquist returned to Prince George with three silver medals, placing second in the pre-introductory interpretive and preliminary elements programs. Childiac also earned the bronze medal for her bronze elements program.
Other preliminary freeskate medalists were Victoria Johnson, silver, and Olivia Jenaway, bronze. Jenaway also won gold in preliminary spins.
In the junior bronze 12 and under freeskate Shelby Scott placed first taking gold. Scott also earned gold in the bronze elements program and silver for bronze spins.
In the junior silver freeskate Machenzie Manuel won bronze, while Chelsea Slater took gold in the gold freeskate category.
Ally Norum won three silver medals in the beginner showcase, primary elements program and primary spins, while Asia Gill took gold in the beginner showcase and bronze in the primary spins.
Kristy Houston-McMillan took silver in her category of primary spins.
