For the second straight weekend Prince George Ray's Stucco under-19A ringette team captured gold.
The Prince George girls won the Spirit of Winter tournament in Langley last weekend, a week after capturing the title in Houston. It's the first time the under-19 girls have won an A division tournament other than in the Northern League.
In round-robin play, Prince George finished with a 2-0-1 record, beating Fraser Valley 5-3 and Burnaby/New Westminster 3-2, while tying Surrey/White Rock 5-5.
In the semifinal, Prince George beat Surrey/White Rock 6-2 and then beat Fraser Valley 7-4 in the final, rebounding from 3-0 and 4-1 deficits after the first period. Kieran Missellbrook led Prince George with three goals and an assist.
Murdine Meboe provided the Prince George side with strong goaltending throughout the tournament.
The next tournament for the Prince George girls is in Quesnel in January.
