Prince George karate artists had a successful weekend at the provincial championship in Burnaby on Nov. 26 and 27. Athletes from the Nechako Karate Club returned home with four bronze, a silver and two gold medals.
Jordan Fulljames placed third in the boys seven and under kumite category, while Cheyanne Fennell and Madison Pinko took third in the girls eight-nine and 12-13 kata divisions, respectively. Warren Grafton also earned a bronze in the men's -75-kilogram team qualifier for kumite.
The silver medalist was Dylan Riches in the boys 18 to 20 team qualifier kumite and Celynne Belanger picked up two gold medals in the girls 18 to 20 and women -68-kilograms team qualifier kumite divisions.
Ian Henderson of the Prince George Chito Karate Club returned home with a silver medal in men's intermediate kata and a bronze in men's intermediate kumite.
