Climbing up to the medal podium is the ultimate in any individual sport and Braeden Davis maximized his time in the spotlight Saturday at the Steveston Judo Open tournament.

Davis, a member of the North Capital Judo Club in Prince George, won gold in his under-18 cadet novice men's under-66 kilogram weight class, then earned the silver medal in the under-21 junior men's novice division.

It was a day of success for the North Capital club -- all five athletes entered in the tournament won medals

Asher Young captured gold in the under-12 junior boys under-32kg class; Lochlan Young (under-14 junior boys under-50 kg) and Nicolas Richards (under-16 juvenile men under-66kg) won silver.

Maxwell Young (under-16 juvenile men under-50kg) was a bronze medalist despite having to fight up a weight class because there were no other competitors in the under-46kg class.
