Peewee girls grab silver in Kamloops

The Prince George female tier 1 Cougars returned from a weekend tournament in Kamloops with the silver medal. The Cougars wrapped up the Kamloops Minor Hockey Association tournament with a 2-2 record, losing only to a very strong team from Richmond.

The Cougars wrapped up the Kamloops Minor Hockey Association tournament with a 2-2 record, losing only to a very strong team from Richmond. In the Cougars opening game against Tri-Cities, Olivia Johnson posted a 4-0 shutout, while her Prince George teammate Mackenzie Muir had three points. Mya Ziemer and Ciara King also had goals for the Cougars.

Prince George moved to 2-0 with a 3-2 win over Kamloops on Saturday with Ziemer picking up her second goal of the tournament and a pair of Jordans - Shanks and McMillan - also scoring. Mikalie Culberson earned the win.

The Cougars suffered a pair of shutout losses - 9-0 and 7-0 - to Richmond to conclude the tournament.

Next up for the Cougars is an eight-team tournament in Vernon from Dec. 2 to 4.
