A pair of wins over Williams Lake has the Best Western female peewee Cougars off to a good start in league play.
The Cougars began the league play last Saturday with a 6-2 win over Williams Lake as Talia Nahulak and McKenzie Muir each had two goals, while Mya Ziemer and Kenna Doerksen also scored.
Olivia Johnson recorded the win and improved her record to 2-0 with a 1-0 shutout on Sunday. Ciara King scored for the Cougars midway through the first period.
The Cougars head to Williams Lake on Jan. 28 and 29. The winner of the four-game series will host playdowns in February to determine which team will qualify for the provincial championship in Richmond in March.
