The Prince George Cougars will start with a clean slate tonight against the Edmonton Oil Kings.

The Prince George Cougars will start with a clean slate tonight against the Edmonton Oil Kings.

The hometown Cats will want to erase memories of what the scoreboard read following Friday's WHL preseason game against the Oil Kings, who left with a 5-1 win.

Adrian Van de Mosselaer, Travis Ewanyk, Michael St. Croix, Rhett Racinski and former Cariboo Cougar midget David Stephens found the net for Edmonton, all after Jarorslav Vlach opened the scoring for the Cougars 37 seconds into the game.

Morgan Clark started in net for the Cougars, allowing three goals, and James Priestner took over in the second period, who gave up two more.

Shots were 33-24 in Edmonton's favour, with Laurent Broissoit going the distance in goal for the Oil Kings.

The Oil Kings went 3-for-3 on the power play while the Cougars were 0-5.

The same teams meet again tonight (7 p.m.) at CN Centre.
