Meryeta O'Dine just missed the medal podium at the world junior snowboardcross championships in Rogla, Slovenia.

In the final events in what has been a remarkable season for the 19-year-old from Prince George, O'Dine finished fourth in the individual race on Monday and helped Canada to a 10th place result in the team event on Tuesday.

Evan Bichon of Prince George also cracked the top-10 with a ninth-place finish in the individual event and was fifth racing for Canada in the team competition.

O'Dine captured her first NorAm points championship this season after posting five podium results (two gold, one silver, one bronze) and 10 top-10 finishes. She practically owned the course in four days of racing at Tabor Mountain Ski Resort, her home hill, where she had two wins and was second and fourth to begin the NorAm series in late-January.

O'Dine also achieved a career-best sixth-place World Cup result, February 27 in South Korea, and was first and second in two days of racing at the national championships in Quebec.

She started her season in August in Corralco, Chile on the South American Cup circuit, finishing second and third.

O'Dine's mother Virginia O'Dine, in her Facebook post, wrote:

"Crash McCrashyFace was very upset to finish 4th at Junior World Championships today. (I know, right) But even though she missed a few, she nails the season for first overall in the NorAm Cup. So woot. One team race tomorrow and racing is done for the winter. (But not training, testing, medical appointments...) Couldn't have done it without an amazing and amazingly patient coach and some super awesome teammates."

Bichon, 17, also had a breakthrough season on the NorAm men's circuit. He started with a fifth-place result at Tabor Mountain and had three-top-10 finishes in Sugarloaf, Maine (third, sixth and ninth). He represented Canada at the Youth Winter Olympics in Lilliehammer, Norway and just missed a medal, placing fourth in the individual event. At the national championships in Quebec, he ended up second and fifth.

Bichon kicked off his season last August as well, posting seventh- and 15th-place results at the South American Cup in Chile.
