The Northern Capitals have drawn first blood in the B.C. Female Midget Triple-A Hockey League playoff championship series.

Hunter Mosher and Myah Bowal each scored two goals to lead the defending-champion Capitals to a come-from-behind 4-2 win over the Greater Vancouver Comets Friday night in Coquitlam.

Bowal jumped on a rebound and dumped it into the Comets net for the gamewinner, 2:48 into the third period, and Mosher followed up with an empty-netter late in the game after Capitals goalie Kelsey Roberts kept her team in the lead with at least a couple of stellar saves.

The Capitals were down 2-0 when Bowal scored her first of the game in the second period and Mosher tied it up 17:43 into the second period.

The Comets goalscorers were not available on the league website.

Game 2 of the best-of-three series is set for today at noon in Coquitlam. If a third game is required, it will be played starting at 10 a.m.
