There were eight podium finishes for members of the Caledonia Nordic Ski Club at the second BC Cup event of the season in Kelowna last weekend.

CNSC sent nine athletes to the competition which saw about 300 skiers on the hills at the Telemark Ski Club each day.

Andrew Casey, coach of the CNSC team, said it was a good weekend for all his skiers.

"Our team skied strong, aggressive and tactically," said Casey. "It was great for both spectators and athletes. The team had smiles the whole day."

Saturday the skiers competed in the sprint event with the individual start skate races going Sunday. Damian Georgyev placed fourth in the 150 metre peewee boys classic sprint and third in the 1.5 km individual skate start event while Will Andal topped a couple junior men on the national development team that trains in Whistler when he finished ninth in the 1.2 km sprint and fifth in the 10 km skate start event.
