And for three quarters Friday night it looked like they just beat the undefeated Nechako Valley Vikings and pull off the biggest upset of the season in the B.C. High School Football Association Northern Conference.

With a berth in the P.G. Bowl final on the line, the Vikings' offence finally found its stride in the final quarter and scored 20 points to defeat the Cougars 20-14. Hudson Schneider and Vikings quarterback Riley Wallace connected on a 48-yard pass to break a 14-14 deadlock with 2:14 left in the fourth quarter.

After a fumble-filled scoreless third quarter, Vikings' Justin Alessandrini romped 16 yards on a draw play and Owen Rogers capitalized on a College Heights fumble, taking the ball 15 yards into the end zone on the next play. Schneider booted the convert to tie it 14-14.

The Cougars scored two touchdowns in the first quarter. On the first play of the game when Brycen Abbott intercepted a pass thrown by Vikings quarterback Riley Wallace. That set up a three-yard scoring play from Carson Jewell. Jewell then finished off an impressive drive at the end of the first quarter with a one-yard run into the end zone. Bobby Peardon converted both TDs.

The Vikings will face the Prince George Polars in the P.G. Bowl next Friday at Masich Place Stadium.
