T-minus 190 days and counting, to the next edition of the World Baseball Challenge.

The organizing committee of the tournament will hold a meeting Monday, Jan. 10, at the College of New Caledonia, and is putting out an invitation for people who want to get involved to attend the 7 p.m. gathering.

"We have a strong group, but we can always use more good help, particularly in an area or two that we will talk about at the meeting," said co-chair and marketing director Shawn Rice.

Most of the main roles handled during the 2009 tournament, which was considered a rousing success, are being taken care of by the same people, but plans to find any way possible to improve the event mean new members and ideas are welcomed.

The tournament is slated to start July 8 at Citizen Field. Tickets are on sale at Ticketmaster, with full-event passes available for $199 (reserved grandstand) or $149 (general admission).
